S2A Modular Completes MegaFactory Powered by Tesla Megapack

Bringing Energy Efficiency and Sustainability to Modular Construction

S2A Modular is making history in partnership with Tesla, as the company has officially created the first off-grid factory in the world powered exclusively using a Tesla Megapack. S2A Modular has finished building its first modular home MegaFactory operated with low-voltage DC power, and there are many more to come.

Tesla’s Megapack sources its power directly from an exclusive alternative energy source known as PVGraf Solar. Since 2022, PVGraf manufacturer FreeVolt has been partnered with S2A Modular, making S2A the exclusive dealer of PVGraf panels across the United States. The panels have a unique design that has proven far more durable than competing brands, enabling them to harness a minimum of 20% more energy than typical solar panels - even during low-light periods.

S2A Modular’s Megafactory was designed with similar technology used in the company's popular self-sustaining GreenLuxHomes, bringing a combination of energy efficiency and sustainability to modular construction. Tesla’s Megapack and PV Graf solar panels are only a few elements of many amongst the company's immense partnership network, which allows them to continue innovating new products with the lowest environmental impact while minimizing operational costs for customers. For example, S2A Modular has partnered with Light Zero to use their DC lighting technology which individually managed to reduce the factory’s carbon footprint by a whopping 37 '000 pounds!

Since commissioning the Megapack from Tesla, all the systems and equipment used within the Mega Factory have operated solely on energy provided from the Megapack and sourced from the PVGraf panels.
