3 Winners Will Be Selected on May 5th in A Free Zoom Event
On Wednesday May 5th, 2021, the B.C. Government and Innovate BC will award $325,000 in prizes for the province’s best aquaculture solutions in the first ever Aquaculture Innovation Awards Event. The event encourages sustainable growth, competitiveness, and adaptability within the aquaculture industry in British Columbia.
To be eligible, innovations were required to be based in British Columbia and seeking to solve problems in the province's aquaculture industry. Submissions were also required to boast prototypes, proven manufacturability, market readiness or a commercial product. Applications were due by March 8th, 2021 at 12pm by interested candidates.
The Aquaculture Innovation Awards Event on May 5th, 2021 will be available to the public for free between 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm PST via Zoom.
The event will depict 10 finalists chosen to present their pitches to event attendees and receive feedback from potential buyers. Two winners will be selected by a panel of judges to take home a grand prize of $150’000 in cash. Event attendees will get to vote for their favourite innovation, and the innovation with the most votes will win a $25’000 fan favourite award. All 10 finalists will also be granted access to the events customer advisory group consisting of a range of potential buyers.
